Dear Parents and Caregivers,
As you will be aware there has been an outbreak of Measles in Northland, and we are currently working with the District Health Board to create a register of students who have been immunised against this.
On Friday the 20th of May, there will be a team from the Northland District Health Board at School to run a free vaccination clinic for any students and their families and whanau who may wish to receive immunisation for measles.
Please read the information below, and return the consent form with your child on Friday should you wish them to receive the vaccine at school.
Students who will be receiving the vaccination will be called for by Year Level during the day. They will need to present the consent form to the vaccination team before they are vaccinated.
Free public vaccination clinics will also take place on Saturday the 21st of May at the following places and times:
- Kerikeri Netball Centre/Kerikeri Rugby Club between 8am and 11am.
- Northland DHB Offices, on Hobson Street from 9am – 2pm
There is no compulsion to vaccinate for those who do not wish to. However, if someone to get measles, all non-immunised contacts are required to self-isolate for two weeks.
Should you have any questions or concerns please contact one of the Deputy Principals.
